All Hallows Windows

Our Church boasts a stunning collection of stained glass windows, widely considered some of the finest in Victorian England. The creative force behind these windows is a collaborative effort by two artistic giants of the era: Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris.

Burne-Jones, a founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite movement, designed 14 of the 15 windows. His signature style, characterized by elongated figures and rich colors, graces the glass. William Morris, a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement, is credited with designing the foliate elements, particularly in the earlier windows, and his company, Morris & Co., constructed the windows themselves.

The windows at All Hallows aren’t just beautiful; they’re also deeply meaningful. They depict a range of religious figures and scenes, from the life of Christ to various saints. The overall effect is a cohesive and visually stunning narrative that adorns the church interior and adds a layer of spiritual depth to the space.
